Church Leadership

Nechako Community Church is an elder-led church, with our Elders Board providing spiritual leadership, guidance, and oversight for the congregation. Our current Elders are Norm Giesbrecht, Joshua Friesen, and Jibu Abraham.

From October 2025 through April 2026, NCC was led by an Advisory Committee in place of an Elders Board. During that season, we did not have individuals available to step into the role of elder, and the Advisory Committee helped provide leadership and stability for our church. With the encouragement and guidance of our pastoral coach, Andy Wiebe, and through the faithfulness of our congregation, people began stepping forward to serve and take on greater responsibility within the church.

Following this season, we were able to re-establish an Elders Board and return to our elder-led model of church leadership. We are thankful for the ways God has worked through our congregation during this time and for those who have been willing to step forward and serve.

Although we are currently walking through a season without a pastor, we see this as an important time of preparation. Our desire is to continue strengthening the life, leadership, and foundation of Nechako Community Church so that, when God brings the right pastor to our congregation, there is a strong and healthy foundation for them to build upon and lead from.

We are grateful for what God has been doing in our church through this season and look forward with hope to what He has in store for NCC.

Ministry Leadership and Responsibilities

At NCC, we believe that ministry is something we share together as a church family. Currently, our only formal committee is our Missions Committee. For other areas of church life, we have designated people who help oversee and take care of different areas of ministry. These include finances, facilities, worship, sound and technology, Sunday School, and hospitality. We are thankful for the many people who willingly give their time, gifts, and energy to serve in these areas. Together, we continue to care for the needs of our church and support one another as we move forward.
